13-15B FlipSwimmer’s age is used at both the Provincial and National level to determine their placement for competition. A swimmer’s age is determined as of December 31 of the competing season. We offer programs for Provincial Stream Competitive athletes.

Swimmers compete and are ranked against other swimmers at local and provincial meets. The competitive year runs from September to June. This is a competitive synchronized swimming program for boys and girls with or without synchro experience.

10 years  & Under

Swimmers practice 2 times weekly for approximately 5 hours in total in our beginner 10U program. Experienced 10U add a third practice every second week to the practice schedule.  Training includes endurance and stroke improvement at each practice in addition to technical synchronized swimming skills. Boys and Girls participate in both individual compulsory technical figures and a choreographed routine at competitions. The team may include swimmers who are older than 10 years of age, as long as the average of the team is 10 & under. All swimmers compete compulsory figures for their appropriate age, even if they are on a team of blended ages. The goals of the program are to provide increased hours above the Novice (Recreational) level to further develop skills. Improvement is clearly visible in the twice-weekly program. These teams also have the challenge of competitions as girls can participate at Regional and Provincial meets. The concept of teamwork and strong basic skills is emphasized throughout the season.

11-12 years old

Swimmers practice 3 times weekly for approximately 7.5 hours in total. Their training includes endurance and stroke improvement at each practice in addition to technical synchronized swimming skills. Boys and Girls participate in both individual compulsory technical figures and a choreographed routine at competitions. The team may include swimmers who are older than 12 years of age, as long as the average of the team is 12 & under. All swimmers compete compulsory figures for their appropriate age, even if they are on a team of blended ages. The goals of the program are to provide increased hours above the Novice (Recreational) level to further develop skills. Improvement is clearly visible in the twice-weekly program. These teams also have the challenge of competitions as girls can participate at Regional and Provincial meets. The concept of teamwork and strong basic skills is emphasized throughout the season.

13-15 years old

Is generally a program for boys and girls with previous competitive experience. Swimmers practice 3 times weekly for approximately 7.5 hours in total or 4 x weekly for 9 hours in total for our more experienced team. Training includes endurance and stroke improvement at each practice in addition to technical synchronized swimming skills. Boys and girls participate in both individual compulsory technical figures and a choreographed routine at competitions. The team may include swimmers who are older than 15 years of age or younger than 13, as long as the average of the team is 13-15 years. All swimmers compete compulsory figures for their appropriate age, even if they are on a team of blended ages. The goals of the program are to provide a competitive environment for the swimmer. Boys and girls develop their skills very quickly in this program. Swimmers participate at Regional and Provincial meets. The concepts of teamwork and disciplined skill development are stressed in a positive and encouraging environment.

16-20 years old

A program for boys and girls who have progressed from the 13-15 provincial competitive stream.  Swimmers practice 4 times weekly for approximately 10.5 hours in total. Their training includes endurance and stroke improvement at each practice in addition to technical synchronized swimming skills. Boys and Girls participate in both individual compulsory technical figures and a choreographed routine at competitions. The team may include swimmers who are younger than 16, as long as the average of the team is 16 years. All swimmers compete compulsory figures for their appropriate age, even if they are on a team of blended ages.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS PROGRAM?

Ages 11 and Under and no previous synchro swim experience – Attend Free Try Synchro Events held in June and September.  A program will be recommend for September registration.

Previous synchro experience.  Attend seasonal Tryouts in June.  Tryouts are 2 sessions which swimmers attend and must perform challenging skills which reflect the competitive programs. Coaches evaluate swimmers and assign teams based on swimmer potential and performance.
